What this service does
GoodTrivia stores event content created by organisers, runs the live event, and shows leaderboards and recaps. Players join from a phone using a short code and do not need an account.
Data & privacy basics
- Organiser accounts: email address and display name used to sign in and to label events you host.
- Event content: event names, charity details, rounds, questions, sponsor logos, and any media you upload.
- Player data: team names and answers submitted during an event. No accounts or emails are required to play.
- Technical data: request IP addresses are used briefly for spam and abuse prevention and are deleted within 24 hours.
How we use it
- To run the trivia event you joined or are hosting.
- To show leaderboards, scoring, and event recap.
- To protect the service from abuse (rate limiting).
Responsibilities of organisers, hosts, and players
- Organisers control the event content and any third-party media they upload.
- Hosts may see team names and submitted answers in order to run the event.
- Players should not enter personal information into team names or answers.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. Data is stored with our infrastructure provider and is accessible only to authorised operators of GoodTrivia.
